All alone never existed

in my world,

for never was I in my

own company when

I had him.

Who said there was

something called lonely?

 for all I had to do

was switch on a light

and see him,

my forever there friend.

He did everything I  did

cloning all my movements

always never speaking

for words were never his thing.

In the darkness I couldn’t

find him but I knew he was

right there, hugging me close

in a feather like touch.

His worldly name was shadow

but I knew better

he was my forever there friend.

Loving me in silent notes

taking my steps together

so I never would feel

I’m all alone.

He was my forever there friend.
