that drag across the
wooden floor
do a twirl and a dance step
with human chatter
and the machine chitter.
Spoons clash,
the dishes clank,
water from faucet drums
on steel.
The music continues with
the beeps from the oven
or whistle of some other thing.
The coins rattle in the cashier box,
the drawers are banged shut,
more chairs are dragged
and clanks of high heels are heard
More sounds,
more music.
And there is the smell too.
