Short Review-Paths Of Glory by Jeffery Archer

Paths of Glory by Jeffery Archer.

If you read Archer and like what you read, Paths of Glory is another book of his you cannot pass.
The book, which is inspired by a true story, follows the journey of George Mallory who loves climbing. This ability to master any great heights leads him on a quest to conquer every great mountain around the world that he wants to scale.
The book’s blur uses perfect words when saying –
Some people have dreams that are so magnificent that if they were to achieve them, their place in history would be guaranteed.”
George Mallory wants to win the hand of the two ladies he loves. One, Ruth, marries him. The other, Mouth Everest, which George refers to as Chomolungma, Goddess Mother of the Earth, kills him. The question that the writer forms the book around is whether Mallory reached the summit of the Everest before his death. There is no witness to vouch for him. However, the last pages of the book will leave you thinking.
Jeffery Archer’s writing is fast paced and I love the freshness in his voice. It never gets too dragging or boring. He knows how to keep the pages turning. The book has the right mixture of mystery, romance, action, history, and adventure!  I wasn’t aware of George Mallory before I came across this novel so I couldn’t isolate those nitpicks the book has been criticized for.
Overall, I truly enjoyed the book. I would give it a 4/5.

World Photo Day!

It was in the year 2011 that I got my current camera and then began my exploration in this new art. Photography had evolved into a lovable hobby and I try, with each picture I click, to improve a step further. Maybe I remain an amateur but that doesn’t compromise on the fun!

Today is World Photo Day celebrating 175 years of photography! I went out and clicked these shots for the day!

In one with Nature

This was written on request. This wonderful picture was taken by a Nataraj Vemuri.

The waves rush forward, in hurry to meet the shore, to feel the warm skin of land. They come with a roar of jubilation and excitement of finally getting to meet the one they have traveled so far for.   It is amidst this celebration that man walks along the shore, witness to the call of the sea. His feelings however are not so loud or speaking. He feels a certain calm, a tranquil feeling of being transported to another world where no ugliness scars the human feeling. Many have experienced walking on the beach, have even been aware of the pleasure when their feel sinks into the soft damp sand. How many have stopped to extend that sense? The waves continue, the sun shines, the breeze fans, the water licks on touch as it happens every day. Then there are those days, almost spiritual, where the human soul is impatient to leave the mundane and join the extraordinary. It is the same waves, sun, breeze, water or anything everyday that triggers the soul to escape from its chains to embrace the world that is pure and innocent. One becomes, even for the briefest of moments, in part with nature.
