So, to please my mum, I opted to use an umbrella. Today, I stood under the heavy rain, under the umbrella.
Sounds sad, I know. But you will be surprised. I enjoyed it as much as I would have getting wet to the bone.
The sky was dark and mysterious, the thunder loud and mighty, the lightning charged, and rain heavy. I stood in the privacy of the terrace with the wind whipping my cloths and the rain drops thundering on the umbrella. The sound of rain is beautiful. But the drumming of the drops on the umbrella multiplies that feeling, the sound so close to your ear. It was surreal on a wholly different level. That sounds drowns all other, and it makes the fact that you are standing below the vast vast sky with rain pouring down more real.
This was a new experience. Should you try it? Definitely! You will know what I am talking about. Also, you stay dry XD
Have you done something out of convention?
Try walking across a bridge at night in rain. I can never forget thay experience! And I also ride a scooter in heavy rain. I'm glad I didnt die xD
ReplyDeleteHi! Happy to see you on my blog! :)
DeleteThat does sound like an amazing suggestion!
Yup it was in Sringeri across Tunga-bhadra. :)
DeleteI would have to say I agree. I don't mind getting drenched to the bone - as long as it isn't winter. Cold rain isn't too fun xD But the description you gave there was just beautiful <3 And I can imagine it can be awesome to simply be out there in the rain as well. Love it ;)
ReplyDeleteWouldn't want to catch a cold! It is a great feeling to be in the rain and managing to stay dry!

Thank you Monika!
DeleteHa! I don't like the idea of getting wet with clothes on, as corny as it sounds, the serious I am. It does feel good to be drenched but, once you're in your home...gah... the pain you go through to get out of the wet clothes. I'll be like: Now, why the hell did I just do THAT?!
ReplyDeleteI think we both have a same wavelength. I love to feel the glory of rain under the umbrella. It's more like a touch sensitive phenomenon. "Don't touch me! I love you more when you try to, though. But don't." Rain and I share a tangible, unhealthy love affair. And we are good as that.
Gosh girl, I love your blogs. They make me think. I mean, not even Schrodinger's equation make my neurons boost up as much as your blog does.
I like the way you look at things. ♥
You're funny Shivani! <3 I'm not very found of the part where I have to change out of my wet clothes either.
DeleteAw, thank you! That means loads to me!
And, I really love long comments! This made my day!
