Burnt patches of beauty

scars are beautiful, they promised
it is testimony.
and she wore them like jewels,
burnt patches of persistence-
not crying out, not dissolving into mush
move on move on, forward forward.

the silver lining will show
the scars will turn butterflies
someday soon, she promised herself
she will come out mighty fine
as strong as a brick gone through a kiln.

Hide not, disguise not, she resolved
let the world know-
scars are beautiful, it is testimony-
of what happened,
of fighting through.

  1. This poem really does sound like one of perseverance and of remembering all the hard times you push through. I really did like the sound of this one and it reminds me to be strong.

  2. "Not crying out, not dessolving into mush..move on move on", these lines took my breath away, these words when combined together become so strong and deep. Lovely write up <3
