#16. Silence In my Prayer

I went on my knees as I saw the others
do the same, closing their eyes in prayer.
For then I could think only one thought
as to how much my knees hurt.
I fidget,  turn and twitch
wondering how long I have to do this.

Even before I was aware the silence took over,
creeping into my mind,
coating my thoughts with their stillness.
Soon I found myself praying like the others
thanking God for everything .
Knee no longer hurt, mind no longer complained
I was silence, silence was me.
